Figure in biscuit of Ganymede with Jupiter's Eagle by Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770-1844) Designed in Rome 1817-18. This copy from Royal Copenhagen from around 1870-80. According to Greek mythology abducts Jupiter's eagle Ganymede to make him the gods' cupbearer (waiters). In good condition. Production crack at the left elbow. Otherwise in good condition. 20½ cm high. Meter base: 10 cm x 24 cm. Factory mark on the bottom.
